being human!!!

While traveling in the metro, listening to my music on the ipod, my eyes went over a guy who was wearing a shirt, quoted " human being, Being Human"......first i smiled and then i started to wonder.....as to how human are we!! infact are we humans at all??i came out of the metro station, still lost in my thoughts, saw an old lady begging near a shop...and the shopkeeper first told her to get lost.....even when she still didnt budge from there, he started abusing her and was on the verge of beating her up....The Reason...that old lady was begging in front of his shop..and that made his customers to go away from his shop....when i went to him and tried helping the lady, and tried telling the shopkeeper as to what kind of a human being he was.....i got a very strange reply.....he said" ami manush..kintu ei je lok jon amar dokaan'r shaamne kukur e koton daraye..eder ki maanush bola jaaye...shob shomoy kukur der moton khawa chaaye...eder ke maanush er moton na kukur der moton treat korte hoye" (im a human being but these people(the old lady) are like dogs..keep begging for food all the time..how can we treat them like humans)...

this definitely gives an insight as to how much of a civilised humans we r...guess we are still animals in the inside and just have a coat of 'civilised' trait on us to differ us from animals....
