Incredible - Is my Country??!!

Written during one of those mundane journeys through my Motherland.Nothing special about it or is there something which defies logic and evokes philosophy ;)?!!

About 13 people adjusting in train coops meant for 8..some would shake their head at the sheer number mismatch.But we've seen the mismatches be it the "Train to Pakistan" carrying 1000s dead and alive alike.Perhaps making space for that one extra person and continuing the journey forms the core of our country.

The one thing which pushed me to jot this i-dont-have-work-that's-why-i-blog was an unknown "Solitary Reaper".The passing train shook her out of the stupor of her hard work,she came up with an innocent grin removed from her solitude.She continued to wave frantically at the train,forgetting the age and the reason.The surprise came in this part not just the kid but even the grownup zealously waved her back.In the end it was a bunch of people in the train and that Solitary Reaper happy for a reason without the reason[Philo Alert!!].

I guess the Mother overlooking us never let the childishness go out of her children.Seen a miniscule portion of my whole country but can vouch for the "Indian"-ness every Indian carries along with them.That ability to slow their life to see the world at leisure,laugh a bit without reason and to again pace themselves up[Philo Alert!!].

Keeping aside the various pessimistic indicators which goes against India we keep on smiling pushing forward.That too with open arms be it the Tibetans,the Bangladeshis who pour over to our country.We find means to feed them and make them a part of us.We mightnot be able to provide lavishness but we ensure that our guests have their basic needs met!![For numbers sake the exodus of Bangladeshis during 1971 war was close to 2 million people]

being human!!!

While traveling in the metro, listening to my music on the ipod, my eyes went over a guy who was wearing a shirt, quoted " human being, Being Human"......first i smiled and then i started to wonder.....as to how human are we!! infact are we humans at all??i came out of the metro station, still lost in my thoughts, saw an old lady begging near a shop...and the shopkeeper first told her to get lost.....even when she still didnt budge from there, he started abusing her and was on the verge of beating her up....The Reason...that old lady was begging in front of his shop..and that made his customers to go away from his shop....when i went to him and tried helping the lady, and tried telling the shopkeeper as to what kind of a human being he was.....i got a very strange reply.....he said" ami manush..kintu ei je lok jon amar dokaan'r shaamne kukur e koton daraye..eder ki maanush bola jaaye...shob shomoy kukur der moton khawa chaaye...eder ke maanush er moton na kukur der moton treat korte hoye" (im a human being but these people(the old lady) are like dogs..keep begging for food all the time..how can we treat them like humans)...

this definitely gives an insight as to how much of a civilised humans we r...guess we are still animals in the inside and just have a coat of 'civilised' trait on us to differ us from animals....

dont know what came over me that i decided to write a blog....have always thought that blogging is such a waste of time...but this sudden feeling immediately made my fingures start typing and get me registered to this site!! who says the mid controls everything!!!!!!!!

actually if i think about it i have too many reasons to start a blog.....maybe the thought of putting these "too many ideas" which keep zooming my brain or maybe the site AWAAZ DO made me really write something down....dont think most of us go through these sites..even if we do its because of some video being posted or some image or some BLOG on our facebook walls and we check them out...we r moved for a few minutes....for a few it maybe hours...and for a very few a day or two... maybe i was one of them too.. constantly checking and refreshing my fb wall...wod check something new and interesting...might just turn out to be lame(most of the time infact).....but i guess i always looked for something which would move me....which would make me do something about it....i guess evry1 gets those kinda feelings...aint it??? an urge to do something..change the world....and be the one who contributed to it in a big way....but then after a few days that urge dies out....we get more engrossed in talking about the new movie which has released or the new cafe which has opened in the city....and some more....i kinda find myself doing it....attending my classes where we learn so much about social issues etc..and the next minute we are talking about what to eat......dont you think we should become a bit more concerned about various social issues??? on humanitarian lines??
